Surface notice windows before revenue is at risk
One contract record. Every stage, obligation, and decision.
Contracts should not disappear into email, shared drives, and separate systems
The customer, quote, order, and commercial history already live in Salesforce. Contract requests, versions, redlines, signatures, and obligations usually move somewhere else the moment a deal reaches legal review.
Manual contract assembly
Teams copy Salesforce data into templates, clauses, and attachments by hand, once per agreement, with nothing checking the package is complete.
Disconnected negotiation
Versions, comments, and approvals scatter across email threads, shared drives, and local files until nobody can reconstruct what was agreed.
Invisible contract execution
Signature status, obligations, and renewal dates sit in documents rather than driving the Salesforce workflows that depend on them.
One governed lifecycle for every agreement
Six stages, all of them on the Salesforce contract record, from the first request through the obligations that outlast the signature.
Request
Start a contract from an opportunity, quote, order, account, or custom Salesforce record, capturing what legal needs before review begins.
Author
Select the right template and assemble approved clauses, commercial terms, exhibits, attachments, and Salesforce data into one package.
Negotiate
Manage internal and external reviewers, redlines, comments, and versions without losing the history behind the agreement.
Approve
Route nonstandard language, commercial exceptions, and risk decisions to the right stakeholder using your existing approval process.
Sign and activate
Send the approved agreement for signature, synchronize recipient status, and activate the contract once it completes.
Fulfill and renew
Track obligations, milestones, notice periods, amendments, expirations, and renewal opportunities as Salesforce records.
Put contracts where your customer relationships already live
OpusDocs CLM connects agreements to Salesforce accounts, opportunities, quotes, orders, contacts, and custom objects. Teams work from a shared contract record using the security model, records, and reporting they already know. It works against the standard Salesforce objects, or against the custom objects your business uses instead.
- Reduce duplicate data entry between the CRM and the contract.
- Keep contract status visible to sales and operations without a separate login.
- Use the Salesforce permissions and sharing model you already maintain.
- Trigger your existing workflows from contract and signature events.
- Report across customers, revenue, contracts, and obligations together.
- Connect executed agreements to the operations that follow them.
Already running Salesforce Contracts
OpusDocs extends it, adding more sophisticated document composition, complex package assembly, higher generation volume, configurable e-signature providers, and richer document and signature event automation.
Sales Cloud without Salesforce Contracts
OpusDocs deploys as a modular contract lifecycle application on the Salesforce environment you already run, working with the standard contract objects, or with the custom objects your business uses instead.
Complex agreement in. Controlled contract out.
Generate personalized, properly formatted agreements from Salesforce data. Contract type, customer, product, geography, risk, and commercial rules decide which templates, clauses, schedules, and attachments belong in the final package.
Where OpusDocs earns its place
Salesforce already offers templates, a clause library, signature integration, and alerts. We do not claim those as advantages. What we add is document complexity and scale, flexible automation, continuity from the quote, signature and document events you can build on, and measurable execution after signature.
See the generation engine that produces the documents underneath all of it, and explore the performance benchmarks for complex agreements.
Review the exception, not the entire contract
Give authors approved templates, clauses, and fallback language. When a counterparty asks for a change, playbooks and Salesforce automation route that exception to the right reviewer instead of putting every agreement in the legal queue.
The final signature should start the next workflow
Send approved contracts for signature, track every recipient, retrieve the completed agreement, and use that final signature to activate the contract and begin the work behind it.
- Completed, so activate the contract
- Completed, so update the opportunity
- Completed, so create or release the order
- Completed, so begin customer onboarding
- Declined, so return the agreement to negotiation
- Contract changed after sending, so mark the previous version superseded
The signature is not the end of the contract. It is where execution begins.
Envelope and recipient activity synchronizes to Salesforce and becomes available to your automation, so completion can activate the contract, update the opportunity, release an order, or start onboarding without anyone noticing and reacting.
Manage what the contract requires, not just the document
Turn deliverables, payment milestones, notice periods, service levels, and renewal dates into Salesforce records with owners, due dates, statuses, and escalation rules.
Never let an important contract date disappear into a PDF.
One agreement lifecycle, from quote through renewal
Salesforce determines what is being sold and under which commercial terms. OpusDocs creates and executes the agreement, then turns its commitments into Salesforce actions.
Quote To Signature executes the approved commercial transaction. OpusDocs CLM manages the agreement and its commitments throughout the customer relationship.
One contract record. Value across the business.
Legal
Control approved language, focus review on deviations, and preserve every version and decision.
Sales
Start contracts from Salesforce, assemble less by hand, and see status without chasing legal.
Revenue Operations
Connect quotes, contracts, signatures, orders, obligations, and renewals in one measurable process.
Salesforce administrators
Configure contract actions, approvals, alerts, and downstream automation with familiar tools.
Finance and operations
Turn executed payment terms, milestones, and renewals into owned work rather than buried text.
Frequently asked questions
Does OpusDocs CLM replace Salesforce Contracts?
No. There are two deployment approaches. If you already run Salesforce Contracts, OpusDocs extends it with document generation, signature orchestration, and event-driven automation. If you are on Sales Cloud without it, OpusDocs deploys as a modular contract lifecycle application against the standard contract objects, or against the custom objects your business uses instead. Talk to us about which applies to your org.
Does OpusDocs CLM replace Salesforce CPQ or Revenue Management?
No. Your revenue platform remains responsible for product configuration, pricing, quote calculations, and commercial approvals. OpusDocs converts the approved transaction into governed agreements and manages the contract lifecycle that follows.
Can OpusDocs create contracts from custom Salesforce objects?
Contracts can be started from opportunities, quotes, orders, accounts, and custom records, because the engine maps to your data model rather than requiring a fixed schema. Bring your object model to a demo and we will show the mapping against your own records.
How does the approval process avoid reviewing every contract?
Authors start from approved templates and clauses. When a counterparty asks for a change, playbook rules route only that deviation to the right reviewer, based on the contract data, the size of the commercial exception, or the risk it carries. Standard agreements never reach the legal queue.
What happens to negotiation history?
Reviewers, versions, redlines, comments, and approval decisions stay attached to the Salesforce contract record, so the reasoning behind an agreement survives after the people involved move on.
Which e-signature providers are supported?
Signature sits behind an adapter, so the provider is a configuration choice rather than an architectural commitment. DocuSign is our deepest integration today, and other providers connect through the same adapter. Ask us about your provider and whether you can use your existing account.
How are contract obligations managed after signature?
Commitments become Salesforce records with owners, due dates, statuses, alerts, and a link back to the originating contract language, so renewal windows, notice periods, and deliverables run on ordinary reports and dashboards.
Where are contract documents stored?
Generated and executed documents are filed against the relevant Salesforce records so teams work from one place. Ask us for the storage, retention, and data boundary detail that applies to your edition and region.
Can OpusDocs import our existing contracts?
Migrating an existing contract estate is something we scope per customer, covering the documents themselves, the template and clause logic behind them, and the obligations worth extracting. Bring a sample of what you hold today and we will tell you what is practical.
Make contracts part of your Salesforce operating system
Salesforce holds the customer, commercial, and revenue data. OpusDocs turns that data into governed contracts, moves those contracts through review and signature, and converts their terms into Salesforce actions.
