Terms of Service and End User License Agreement
Last updated: October 6, 2026
These Terms of Service and End User License Agreement ("Terms") govern your use of the OpusDocs website, PDF editor, OpusDocs for Microsoft Word (the "Word add-in"), and connected OpusDocs services (together, the "Services"). These Terms are between you and Geminid Systems, the provider of OpusDocs ("OpusDocs", "we", "us", or "our"). By installing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Services for an organization, you must be authorized to do so.
If your organization has a separate written agreement with OpusDocs covering the Services, that agreement controls to the extent of any conflict, including its licensing, payment, support, data-processing, warranty, liability, and termination terms. These Terms do not replace that agreement. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
1. License and permitted use
Subject to these Terms and your organization's applicable agreement, OpusDocs grants you a limited, non-exclusive right to access the Services for your own or your organization's authorized purposes while your access remains active. This includes installing and using the Word add-in within your organization's applicable license and permissions, and preparing and sharing documents with customers and other intended recipients.
The Services are licensed, not sold. OpusDocs and its licensors retain their rights in the software, design, documentation, and branding. Your license does not grant rights to resell or sublicense the software or provide access to unauthorized users. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their applicable licenses.
2. Accounts, prerequisites, and fees
The Word add-in requires a compatible version of Microsoft Word, a Salesforce account, and access to an organization with OpusDocs installed and configured. Features depend on your permissions and the services enabled by your administrator. AI features and connected storage or signature workflows may require additional configuration or access.
Installing the add-in does not create a Salesforce or OpusDocs service account or include licenses for connected products. Fees, subscription periods, usage limits, trial conditions if offered, and support commitments are governed by your applicable order or written agreement. Microsoft, Salesforce, and other providers may require separate licenses. Contact support@opusdocs.com for setup and licensing information.
Provide accurate account information, protect your devices and access credentials, and use only accounts you are authorized to access. The Word add-in can retain authorization tokens and configuration to maintain your session. Your administrator may control your permissions, connected services, and continued access.
3. Your content and authorized processing
You retain your rights in the documents, templates, records, prompts, and other materials you provide ("Your Content"). You authorize OpusDocs and the providers used to deliver the Services to copy, transmit, and process Your Content as needed to perform your requested operations and provide, secure, and support the Services, subject to the applicable agreement and Privacy Policy. This authorization does not transfer ownership of Your Content to OpusDocs.
You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to provide and process Your Content, including personal information about other people, and to share the resulting documents.
OpusDocs stores customer files, including templates and generated documents, only in your organization's own cloud storage, under its access, retention, and deletion settings. Cloud services process content to perform requested operations. Salesforce metadata, AI-related information, and other service data are handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Closing a browser, signing out, or uninstalling the add-in does not delete files from your organization's storage or records from connected systems.
4. Document and AI-assisted workflows
You are responsible for reviewing merge fields, conditional rules, signature tags, recipient information, and generated documents before publishing, sending, or relying on them. Preview in the Word add-in saves a draft version before rendering it. Publishing saves the document in your organization's own cloud storage and version metadata in Salesforce.
AI assistance can suggest fields, review text, and draft segment criteria. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete and requires appropriate human review. Creating or modifying a segment can save AI-generated criteria to Salesforce. The Services do not guarantee that a document satisfies every applicable legal, regulatory, or business requirement, and AI output is not a substitute for qualified professional advice where needed.
5. Signatures and third-party services
The Word add-in helps prepare templates and signature tags. Sending documents for signature and completing signatures depend on the connected services configured for your workflow. You are responsible for confirming signer identities, signing order, permissions, required consents, and the final document content.
Microsoft, Salesforce, cloud providers, signature services, and other third-party products are subject to their own terms and availability. These Terms grant no license to those products. A third-party integration does not change the rights or responsibilities in your agreement with that provider.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the Services to create or distribute unlawful or fraudulent content, impersonate another person, infringe others' rights, or process information you are not authorized to use. Do not bypass access controls or license restrictions, interfere with service security or availability, upload malicious code, or gain unauthorized access to another user's data.
Do not copy, modify, or reverse engineer the software except as permitted by your applicable agreement, a third-party component's license, or rights that cannot be restricted under applicable law.
7. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may update the Services and these Terms as the product changes, subject to your applicable agreement and legal requirements. The date above identifies the latest revision. We will give additional notice where required. Changes to these Terms do not override a separate written agreement with your organization.
We may suspend or end access for a material violation of these Terms, unauthorized use, or a risk to the security of the Services, subject to any notice or remedy rights in the applicable agreement. Your administrator may also revoke your access. When your license ends, you must stop using the licensed software and Services.
Uninstalling the add-in does not automatically cancel a subscription or delete Salesforce records, published templates, generated documents, or content held by connected services. Cancellation, data return, and deletion follow the applicable agreement and system controls. Contact your administrator or OpusDocs for assistance.
8. Warranties and responsibility
Except as provided in a separate applicable agreement, and to the extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without express, implied, or statutory warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation or error-free generated documents.
Except as provided in a separate applicable agreement, and to the extent permitted by law, OpusDocs and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, revenue, or goodwill arising from use of the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Other terms and contact
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later. These Terms govern the uses they describe, subject to the separate-agreement priority stated above.
