Automate one supplier agreement across business units

Imagine a central procurement team standardizing a high-value facilities agreement across an international group. An acquisition adds a local contracting entity and more service locations. As an indirect purchasing agreement, it needs to carry the group's standards and reflect each entity's approved scope, rates, and regional requirements.

Step 01

Start with your existing business data

Use your standard and custom Salesforce objects, or supply approved data through the generation API. Map suppliers, buying entities, agreements, payment schedules, pricing, and locations from the systems your team manages. Supplier qualification and risk decisions stay in your existing processes; generation uses their approved results.

Make shared supplier standards easier to apply

Keep approved supplier code of conduct requirements and contract wording visible in Word. Share wording within a template where appropriate and retain separate approved forms where needed. Procurement and legal decide the applicable terms.

  • Confidentiality, data protection, and intellectual property
  • Audit rights and obligations passed through to subcontractors
  • Local contracting entities, regional requirements, and approved exceptions

Measure performance and the work saved

Dedicated rendering services handle both Salesforce-triggered and API-based generation, scaling separately from Salesforce transaction processing. Test your supplier rollout and compare a scoped OpusDocs quote with the full cost of the existing workflow. Agree on evaluation measures with procurement and finance.

  • Time to reviewed output, template maintenance, and correction rounds
  • Generation time and output correctness under concurrent demand
  • Licensing, support, storage, migration, integrations, and retained tools

Common questions

Explore the tools behind your workflow.

Can OpusDocs generate supplier contracts as well as customer contracts?

Yes. Automate supplier document generation from your own Salesforce business objects or data supplied by other systems through the API. OpusDocs AI helps authors build and maintain the Word templates, including field discovery and suggested conditions for Salesforce workflows. Generation uses your configured data mappings, approved language, and rules for the supplier engagement.

Can we use our own business data model and document types?

Yes. OpusDocs works with any custom business data model and can be configured to generate any type of business document. Use your own Salesforce objects, fields, and relationships, or map data from other systems through the API. Build document tables from payment schedule records, including installments, due dates, and amounts, or from similar data such as pricing lines, delivery schedules, and service locations. Your Word templates define the table layout, wording, and conditional sections for the documents your business needs, from supplier agreements and schedules to purchase orders, onboarding packets, and operational reports.

Can we use Salesforce and API-based generation together?

Yes. Use Salesforce generation, API-based generation outside the CRM, or both on the same platform. We have supported customers with both CRM and non-CRM generation flows. In Salesforce, teams generate from record pages using their standard and custom objects. Other applications can supply document data through the API. AI field discovery and previews in Word use the connected Salesforce configuration. We scope external integrations around your data mappings, triggers, access, and file destinations.

What if the supplier sends us its own contract?

This workflow fits documents your team creates from approved templates. Supplier-provided contracts may need negotiation, legal review, and redlining in your existing tools. Start by identifying the agreements, schedules, or amendments procurement prepares itself.

What does the free 60-day pilot include?

The pilot includes migration of one document, CRM setup for that workflow, one author seat, Word plugin access, and guided onboarding. Keep your current tools in place while you test variations, generation performance, and a template change. Additional documents and external-system integrations need separate scoping.
